Danielle Hulton

Hi! I’m Danielle Hulton. I’m a books & coffee entrepreneur located in Seattle, WA.
In 2010, along with my husband David, I co-founded Ada’s Technical Books & Café. I started Ada’s because of my love of science, technology, and never-ending curiosity. The mission of Ada’s is to provide a welcoming, community focused place that encourages curiosity and learning.
In 2020, we became the new owners of Fuel Coffee. Fuel Coffee was founded by community leader and friend, Dani Cone, and I am excited to continue on to Chapter 2 of Fuel’s legacy by freshening up the spaces and adding neighborhood bookstores to each of the three locations.
I place a particular emphasis on company culture and employee empowerment with the businesses that I run. Both of my companies are proud to be tip free and provide robust benefits to staff. I am passionate about the neighborhoods that are home to my business locations- currently Capitol Hill, Montlake, and Wallingford. I am on neighborhood business boards and advocate for the neighborhood-wide community. Through it all, I strive to support my community through beautiful spaces and great jobs.

I love to travel, read, and spend time outside. You can follow along with what I’m reading on my Library Thing profile. The best way to get ahold of me is via email at danielle@adasbooks.com.

My Work

While I may have received my undergraduate degree in Electrical Engineering, my work over the last decade or so has been in building curiosity-encouraging, book & coffee focused, community spaces.

Ada’s Technical Books & Café

Ada’s Technical Books & Café is Seattle’s technical bookstore. We build community through science minded literaturea vegetarian caféspecialty coffeecoworking, and an intimate event venue. Our coworking space, The Office at Ada’s, is a neighborhood resource for those looking for a great place to work, whether it’s long term or just for the day. Our event venue, The Lab at Ada’s, is exceptionally well suited for workshops, birthday partieswedding receptions, and holiday parties of any kind.

Fuel Coffee

Fuel’s approach to coffee is like our approach to books: in-depth and forward-thinking, but always friendly, and in a beautiful space.

We’re creating the neighborhood coffee shop we would want – because we live here, too! Join us in pouring the best we can into each cup, customer interaction, and community.
